Monkey Forest Ubud Bali:
The Ubud Monkey Forest is a natural reserve forest and heritage temple in Ubud, Bali, Indonesia. It has approximately 700 monkeys which are known as long-tailed Macaques (Macaca fascicularis). There are many groups of monkeys and each occupying different territories in the park. The Sacred Monkey Forest is a popular tourist attraction in Ubud and is often visited by many tourists.
What to see in Ubud Monkey Forest:
In the Monkey Forest, you can walk around and enjoy the nature and tall green trees. The long-tailed Macaques Monkeys are not harms tourist. These monkeys are very rare species and mostly found in Southern part of Indonesia. Guidelines given by management should be followed. The forest are of approximately a tenth of a square kilometer (approximately 27 acres) and contains at least 115 different species of trees.
Inside the Monkey Forest there is Pura Dalem Agung Padangtegal temple as well as a "Holy Spring" bathing temple and another temple used for cremation ceremonies.

Out side the street of Monkey Forest you can enjoy the many choices of restaurants, from western cuisine to Balinese dishes. Restaurants are neatly managed. You can feel the beauty of nature while enjoying the Cuisine.

Explore the Ubud
Walking around Ubud is an experience of its own. You can rent a bicycle or a motorbike if don't want to walk. Most of the tourist prefer bikes for environmental reasons. However, since Ubud's located on a mountainous area, the roads tend to be steep, I suggests motorbike for touring. Cars are usually only used when you want to to go outside Ubud area.
How to go Ubud:
Ubud is about an hour and a half drive from the airport. Taxis are available in the airport. Any travel agent in Denpasar Bali Airport will be able to get you there. If you stay in a hotel, they usually provides a shuttle service for a reasonable fee. The sacred forest is situated at the Monkey Forest Street (shown on the right), which is the main street of Ubud, so you won't miss it. Shops and restaurants line up the streets, so you might as well check them out while you're there.
