The Custard Apple also refered as Sugar apple is the fruit of Annona squamosa species. The Annona squamosa  is most widely grown and a native of tropical climate in the Americas and West Indies. It was brought to Asia by Spanish traders.

Other Names of Sugar Apple

The other names of Sugar Apple are Sitaphal (सीताफल) in Hindi, Sharifa in Urdu, Farifta or ata iin Bengali and Atis in Filipino. In India, It's also knows by custard apple or Sugar apple.

Custard Apple flesh is delicious, creamy white to light yellow in colour, and resembles and tastes like custard. The dark to black coat covers the many hard, glossy seeds. There are other seedless variants.
