Chicken curry is a delicious Indian non-vegetarian dish prepared with exotic aromatic spices. It is also a good option for an impromptu party without planning.  You can be the host of a great party by preparing this quick chicken recipe in just 30 minutes.

Cooked with onions, tomatoes, coriander powder, cumin powder, turmeric powder, ginger, garlic and a host of aromatic spices, this curry is cooked in different ways around the world.


Types of Chicken Curry

Chicken curry is also known by different names depending on the way it is cooked and the ingredients used, such as: Chicken Jalfrezi, Chicken Korma, Chicken Do Pyaza, Chicken Butter Masala, Thai Chicken Curry, Methi Chicken Mughlai Chicken, Chicken Razal  and many other names.

Today we are going to tell the recipe of Pure Indian Chicken Curry.


Chicken Curry Ingredients

Ingredients of Easy Chicken Curry

1 kg chicken

4 medium size onions finely chopped

2 medium tomatoes finely chopped

1 tbsp garlic paste

1 tbsp ginger paste

2 tsp coriander powder

2 tsp cumin powder

1/2 tsp turmeric powder

1/2 tsp red chili powder

1 tsp garam masala powder

2 tbsp oil

1 tsp cumin

2 bay leaves

Salt to taste

Chopped green coriander for garnishing


Chicken Curry Recipe

1.Heat oil in a pan and add 1 tsp cumin seeds and bay leaves.  When cumin starts crackling, add chopped onion, ginger and garlic paste and fry till it turns light brown.


2. Now add chopped tomatoes to it and fry.  When the tomato water dries up, add coriander, cumin, garam masala, red chili, turmeric powder and salt to it and then fry them for 2-3 minutes.


3. Now put the chicken pieces in these spices, stir it and fry it well for 8-10 minutes.


4. Now add half a cup of water and stir, close the lid and let the chicken cook for 10 minutes on low flame.


5. Turn off the gas after cooking


6. Garnish with chopped coriander and serve with Roti, Paratha, Naan or Rice.
