The Election Commission of India has unveiled the much-anticipated schedule for the Lok Sabha elections of 2024. Here's a comprehensive breakdown of the crucial dates and state-wise polling details:


Election Dates:

Polling commences on April 19, 2024, and spans across 7 phases.

The final phase of voting concludes on June 1, 2024.

Counting for all elections, including by-elections, assembly elections, and general elections, is set for June 4, 2024.


State-wise Election Schedule:

Here are election schedule for major states:

1. Rajasthan: Polling on April 19 and 26.

2. Maharashtra: Elections held across five phases on April 19, April 26, May 7, May 13, and May 20.

3. Uttar Pradesh: Voting takes place in all seven phases on April 19, April 26, May 7, May 13, May 20, May 25, and June 1.

4. Delhi: Electorate across seven parliamentary constituencies cast their votes on May 25.

5. Madhya Pradesh: Voting scheduled in four phases on April 19, April 26, May 7, and May 13.

6. Manipur: Elections divided into two phases on April 19 and 26.

7. Karnataka: Polls conducted in two phases on April 26 and May 7.

8. Punjab: Voting slated for June 1, during the seventh phase of the Lok Sabha polls.

9. Himachal Pradesh: Polling scheduled for June 1, in the seventh phase.

10. Odisha: Elections spread across four phases on May 13, 20, 25, and June 1.

11. Jharkhand: Polling on May 13, May 20, May 25, and June 1.

12. Haryana: Parliamentary polls to be held on May 25, in the sixth phase.

13. Uttarakhand: Voting set for April 19, in the first phase.

14. West Bengal: Elections conducted over seven phases between April 19 and June 1.

15. Assam: Polling on April 19, 26, and May 7.

16. Gujarat: Voting scheduled for May 7.


Electoral Landscape:

Over 96.8 crore eligible voters are expected to cast their ballots across more than 12 lakh polling stations.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the ruling BJP secured 303 seats, with Congress clinching 52 seats. The BJP-led NDA remains optimistic about repeating its success, aiming for over 300 seats in the upcoming polls.
